Did anyone see the Budd Dwyer suicide live? My ex-girlfriend is from Harrisburg and says she saw?

this happen on live TV when she was 11. I had never even heard of it till she told me that. Did kids really see that on live TV? I have since researched it and seen the video myself, and it seems like she really might have. She said it really affected her badly.
