We just found out that my Father in-law has mercer and I would like to know what it is & where it comes from?

He was Taken to the hospital because his testicle's swelled to the size of a gfruit. While visiting him on his 2nd day there, the Dr. said that's good they started you on the antibiotic for the mercer!
