What does not worshiping Zeus have to do with God?

I've noticed that a lot of atheists say that religions will eventually p away. They use the fact that hardly anyone worships Zeus anymore to support their umption. Using Zeus as an example is a Euro-centric way of looking at things. If the Jewish people are the chosen people, then God was revealing things through them. Then the rest of the world had to wait for the Truth to be revealed to them. Jewish people ended up under Roman rule, then Jesus came, and slowly the word got out to people all over the world (through disciples, conquering, slavery, etc.)
